N-Hance Wood Refinishing is pleased to announce the addition of one of its newest franchise owner Jim Studer. Studer will be operating his N-Hance franchise in Ankeny, IA, a suburb of Des Moines. Like many N-Hance franchise owners, Studer came from a varied professional background. Studer worked for the Wall Street Journal in computer and network services 25 years, before leaving in 2009 to buy, sell and flip homes.
In these homes, there were two areas that required the most renovation: wood floors and cabinets. “Cabinets were a big issue among two or three other things. The cabinets were always something that we thought, ‘That place has got some awful cabinets’ and so [N-Hance] really appealed to me,” says Studer.
Studer had worked with a local N-Hance franchise in the past, when renovating a home he wanted to sell. The N-Hance technician came and refinished the floors of one morning and by that afternoon, Studer was able to be back in the house working. He was impressed by the work and remembered thinking the floors looked “beautiful”.
Studer called the N-Hance franchise to come out for another job later, but found that the N-Hance franchise owner wasn’t working in that area anymore. This led Studer to consider the possibility of purchasing an N-Hance business. Through his buying and selling of homes, he saw the need for N-Hance in his area. Seizing this opportunity, Jim Studer and his wife decided to open their own N-Hance business.
Studer recently completed the week long June 2017 New Buyer Training in Logan, Utah. During the week, new buyers and their technicians, received hands-on training with N-Hance’s wood refinishing products. The training is out of the classroom and focuses on real life situations that will best prepare them for when they return home and start their businesses.
“It’s full blast hands on! It’s been so awesome, every minute of it. It’s been great! ”, Jim Studer said when thinking over his time in training.
Each N-Hance franchise is backed by The Home Depot and a strong national marketing campaign. These built in supports help to ensure that new franchises can be successful.
